Lena Headey, who plays the evil queen Cersei Lannister in HBO’s “Game of Thrones” filed for divorce from her husband of 5-years, musician Peter Loughran.

The 38-year-old English actress cited irreconcilable differences in the documents, which were filed in Los Angeles Superior County Court on July 20.
According to the documents, obtained by People magazine, Headey said that the couple had been separated since 2011.
Headey and Loughran wed in May 2007 and are parents to 2-year-old son Wylie Elliot Loughran, of whom the actress is seeking joint legal and physical custody.
Headey is best known for her role in “Game of Thrones” and for appearing in films like “The Brothers Grimm,” “300″ and “The Red Baron.”
“Game of Thrones” is based on George R. R. Martin’s fantasy novels and debuted in April 2011. The series follows seven noble families as they fight for control of the mythical land of Westeros.
Last year, the show was nominated for 11 Emmys. Peter Dinklage won the Emmy for Best Supporting Actor In A Drama Series for his role as dwarf Tyrion Lannister, marking his first win. The series also won an Emmy for Outstanding Main Title Design.
The “Game of Thrones” season one DVD box set broke a sales record for HBO. The drama’s second season premiered in the spring.
